Linda Mary Pennoni Wilkie, 88 passed away peacefully in her home at 8 Gardenwood Drive in South Ashville on Wednesday October 4th with her family by her side. 

She is survived by her five loving children, Louis Wilkie (Maeva), Pamela Wilkie Koelbel (Mark), Michele Wilkie Lamb (Mark), Renee Wilkie Hall, and June Wilkie Taylor. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Louis J. Wilkie in 1997. 

She has six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  She has four surviving siblings.  Chuck, Vilma, Rita and Elanor.  A public viewing will be held on Sunday from 2 - 6 p.m. at Western Carolina Mortuary Service, 1373 Sweeten Creek Road.  A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 am in the chapel of Western Carolina Mortuary Service.  Burial will be Monday at 12:00 pm at NC State Veteran’s Cemetery.
