Rosa Lee Crump

Our beloved mother, Rosa Lee Crump, departed this life on Friday, July 2, 2021, at 6:30 am at the age of 94 in her home of Asheville, NC. She was born on May 30, 1927, to the late Annie Laura and James Murray.

Rosa was a graduate of Stephens-Lee High School, class of 1947. She served as a domestic for nearly 60 years and was loved by every family that she worked for. Rosa did not meet a stranger and everyone she met loved her. She loved to bake and made the best 7-Up pound cakes. She was a giver who opened her home and cared for her family. Some of her favorite things included the color red, watching The Lawrence Welk Show and listening to “How Great Thou Art” and “One in a Million”. Rosa loved connecting with her family and friends and participating in her class reunion. She was a doting mother, grandmother and proud of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Theodore Crump; daughters, Harriett Fleming and Valeria Crump; son, Wade Crump; brother, Alphonzo Murray.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Brenda Clinkscales, Linda Smith (Clarence), Mable Jones (Doug); sons, Theodore Crump, Jr.(Georgia) and Michael Crump; grandchildren, Carla Staton, William Fleming, Jr., Gregory Fleming, Tamika Davis, Ben Crump, Brittney Crump, Ryan Crump, Aneshia Crump, Lisa Crump, Whitney Crump, Joseph Crump, Benita Agnew, Ameshia Hudgens, Timothy Smith, Travers Crump, Theodore Crump III, Candace Crump, Courtney Robinson, Douglas Jones, III; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Public viewing will be from 2:00-6:00pm on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in the chapel of Western Carolina Mortuary Service. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 8, 2021 also in the chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 30 Raquet Club Rd. Asheville, NC 28803.
