McDaniel Williams Obituary

McDaniel (MC) Williams born Saturday, July 10, 1937 went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC at age 82.

McDaniel was born to the late Ethel Williams Bruton and McDaniel Holloway, stepfather Robert Bruton. He enjoyed talking about the old days, laughing, listening to the Bible, gospel music and the blues, as well as dressing to a crisp in his jean shirt and shoes to match. A fun, loving, strong man of God will be missed. He was born and raised a Catholic but as he continued reading the Bible, took on Baptist customs and religion, lived for the Lord and listened to the Bible daily. Talking about the Bible was energizing to him.

McDaniel graduated form Stephens-Lee High School class of 1955. He worked several years with Willie Rhynes Janitorial and Linen Service.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lessie Bell Williams, whom he spoke about and blinked about until he became too weak; his paternal grandparents, Ellen and Mitchell Sherard; daughter, Darlene M. McAdams; son, Kenneth “Rock” Morgan; grandson, Darren “Gene” Morgan.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jackie W. Barnard and Sharon Lee; son, Bryant Williams (Janice) all of Asheville, NC; sister, Yolanda McGraw (Bernard); brother, Marcell Williams (Carolyn) and Melvin Holloway (Edie); several grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; sisters-in law and brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; special niece, Toni Morgan; and many other relatives and friends.
