Janet Lee Underwood, 82, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018, at John F Keever Jr. Solace Center, after a brave struggle with cancer.
Born in Midland, Texas, she was the daughter of Beulah Fleet, of Denver CO, and was raised in Aida, OK and Denver, CO. She attended Aida High School and graduated from Colorado University with a degree in nursing. Janet was a dedicated mother and wife, and a loving grandmother. She was an animal lover, an accomplished gardener, and a gourmet cook.
She is survived by her twin brother, James Walter Fleet of Denver, CO; her two daughters, Katy Underwood Brooks of Asheville, NC and Heather Lee Roman of Atlanta, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SPCA (Humane Society) of Asheville, 14 Forever Friends Lane Asheville, NC 28806.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 7th at 4 pm at Bella Vista Independent Retirement Community in Chunns Cove.
