Doris Jordan Poteet "Dottie" passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Mission Hospital.

Dottie was born on July 11, 1943, in Murphy, NC to the late John M. and Leola M. Jordan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and most of all, a disciple of God. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

Left to cherish her precious memory is her devoted husband, Jerry Eugene Poteet; daughters, Natalie Lynn Poteet Akin and Jennifer Leigh Poteet Browning; grandsons, Jacob Jordan Browning and Alexander William Browning; granddaughter, Elizabeth Jennifer Akin; siblings, Gayle Jordan Simpson, Charlene J. Palmer, Billy Ray Jordan; many other family members and friends

Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday, June 24, 2024 at Mills River United Methodist Church with a gathering after the service in the fellowship hall.
