Christina "Christy" Elise McCrary

Christina "Christy" Elise McCrary passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Four Seasons Elizabeth House. She was born on April 29, 1971 in Hendersonville, NC to the late Charles Anthony McCrary and June Taylor McCrary.

Christy worked as a CT tech for over 30 years. She made such an impact on her colleagues in her professional career as well as those in her family and her friends. Christy was full of life and personality. She was always there to give advice on everything from work issues to fashion, where to go on vacation and where to eat, the best wine and cocktails and how to navigate. Christy loved to cook and knew how to prepare any dish. True to her southern roots, she could perfectly fry anything. Christy loved the sunshine and when she wasn't traveling, her weekends were spent sipping wine while floating on the lake with Angela and Mack. If asked to describe her in one word it would be "Class". She had such class in every sense of the word.

Christy was preceded in death by her father, Tony McCrary.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, June McCrary of Mountain Home, NC; sister, Angela Nix (Mack Brittain) of Etowah, NC; brothers, Jon McCrary (Cindy) of Inman, SC and Alan McCrary (Laurie) of Mills River, NC; nieces, Cassidy Nix of Wilmington, NC and Cierra McCrary of Duncan, SC; nephews, Erik Nix of Asheville, NC, Myles (Becca) McCrary and daughter, Hadley of Hendersonville, NC, Mitchell McCrary of Arden, NC; fur babies, Jack and Shandy; many other family members and friends.

Christy's loved ones will remember her as smart, funny and above all else, a really good friend, sister, daughter and most amazing aunt. She always loved and treated her nieces and nephews as they were her own. Christy was an incredible person who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family askes that donations be made to Duke Cancer Institute in the Dr. Laura Rosenberger Fund.

A Celebration of Life Drop In will be held from 2:00-5:00pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Elks Lodge in Hendersonville, NC.
