Nancy Cairnes White, 88, of Arden, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on February 12, 2021 at CarePartners Hospice after a brief illness.  She was born on May 12, 1932 in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Thomas Hooper Cairnes and Carrie Clayton Cairnes. Also preceding her in death was her late husband, David Cameron White also of Arden, NC.

Always passionate about poetry and fashion. She modeled for one of Asheville's premier furriers.  She balanced her interests as a homemaker and mother.

Surviving are her sons: Odd S White II and his wife Brenda White of Asheville, Victor A. White and his wife Lynne of Greensboro, NC, 3 grandchildren, Emily Growden and husband David of Asheville, Rebekah Walters and husband Michael of Asheville and Steven A. White of Candler, NC.  Mrs. White also had 8 great grandchildren.  Jacob Andrew White, Justice and Alexis Stone, Madison Walters, Emma Walters, Elisha Walters, Zebulun Walters, and Naomi Walters.
