Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Edward Wilson, 63, of Hot Springs, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was born in Takoma Park, MD, on April 13, 1960, to the late Charles Millard Wilson, Sr., and Nathalie May Holcomb Wilson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Millard Wilson, Jr.; former wife, Mary Lou Mitchell Wilson.

In 1978, Larry graduated from Mt. Pisgah Academy in Candler, NC. He attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN, for several years before graduating from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts Education, which he taught to middle school students for the Kingsport, TN, city school systems from 1986-1989. In 1989, he opened a security and fire alarm business called Advanced Alarm Systems and served the Tri-City Tennessee, and Western North Carolina area for over 30 years. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, and a loyal friend.

Larry is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Arlene Wilson, of Candler, NC; his sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Chan von Henner, of Candler, NC; his aunt, Dr. Catherine Wilson, of Candler, NC; his niece and nephew-in-law, Lori and Kyler Reaney, of Silverton, OR; his nephew and niece-in-law, Timothy and Konnely Wilson, of Niles, MI; his niece, Elizabeth Wilson, of Candler, NC; his nephew and niece-in-law, Stefan and Elise von Henner, of Eau Claire, MI; and his nephew and niece-in-law, Austin and Julie von Henner, of Arden, NC.

A memorial service will be held at Asheville North SDA Church on Saturday, June 17, at 2:30 pm. Interment will be at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asheville North SDA Church Prayer Garden, 364 Broadway Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
