James William Gray, Jr., 70, of Fletcher, NC passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home after a lifelong battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Jim retired from General Instruments, Inc., C.P. Clare Division.  He was an avid Nascar, NHRA, and Duke Men's basketball fan.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents James Gray, Sr. and Margie McCarn; and a sister Judy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda Gray; children Shawn Gray (Tracy), Joshua Gray (Kimberly), and Melissa Gray (Sara Witt and A.J. Martin); siblings Michael Gray of Atlanta, Angela Lynn Gray of Atlanta, and Ricky Gray of Charlotte; and grandchildren Tim, Taylor Danielle, Jacob, Aubrey Anne, Jesse Daniel, Sydney Rachel, Pearl, and Monroe.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, in the Chapel of Western Carolina Mortuary Service, 1373 Sweeten Creek Rd, Asheville.  The Funeral Service will be Friday, June 1 at 11:00am with Chuck Waldrop and Gwen Hall officiating.
