On October 6, 2019 our Lord called home his son, Richard E. Anthony at the age of 70. He was born on January 4, 1949 to the late Mary and Ray Anthony.
Rick grew up in Waynesville, NC and attended Tuscola High School. He then went on to join the United States Marine Corp and served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart metal with honorable discharge.
Rick later became a car salesman for many years. His hobbies included buying and working on Hot Rod cars, going to the Rod Run, working on antique bicycles, and was a model car enthusiast. Rick truly loved to help others and was cherished by many, many friends. He always had a funny story to tell and loved to make people laugh.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Laura Anthony and Amanda Anthony; four grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Joy Shuler; brother, Frank Harrison; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:30 pm Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the chapel of Western Carolina Mortuary Service. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at WC State Veterans Cemetery.
